Axie Infinity developer Sky Mavis has announced that 7 new web3 games are joining the Ronin Forge program, which initially started accepting applications in June this year. Here is a list of all the new projects that have chosen to build on the Ronin network, in no particular order:
- Cambria
- Pixel Heroes Adventure
- Kuroro Wilds (from the Kuroro Beasts ecosystem)
- Party Icons
- Xtremeverse
- Last Odyssey
- Infomon
Let’s check out each of these upcoming blockchain games to see what varied web3 gaming experiences they have in store for the growing community of this gaming-focused chain.
1. Cambria
Cambria is a top-down pixelated risk-to-earn experimental MMO inspired by RuneScape. It consists of a PvP minigame where players duel to win all of the onchain stakes, while enjoying a variety of activities in the bigger MMORPG side referred to as Gold Rush. In Gold Rush, you get to explore dungeons and fight a wide range of fantasy monsters but also engage in PvP combat while capturing strongholds, uncovering valuable treasure, and occasionally relaxing by fishing and chilling with other players in certain areas.
This high stakes online game has been in development since fall 2022, but this year the team managed to successfully raise $2.5 million in a seed round led by BITKRAFT Ventures. You can look forward to seeing an early alpha version of Gold Rush launch in mid or late October that will run for 2 weeks, and for which the developers have been playtesting the past 9 months, according to their latest blog post.
With that they also announced The Founders Collection, which is their first and “most exclusive” NFT collection that was minted on the Ethereum network on September 17th. Becoming a Founder NFT holder will let you participate in the early alpha, as well as in future mints and early access events, while also becoming eligible for an exclusive airdrop allocation. The floor price on OpenSea is 0.339 ETH, but on Blur it’s 0.265 ETH at the time of writing, and holders will have the option to bridge their assets over to Ronin, according to the official Twitter thread.
2. Pixel Heroes Adventure
Pixel Heroes Adventure is a pixelated mobile MMORPG that is set to launch on Android and iOS by the end of this year as a free to play and earn title. An official teaser trailer for it was published this month, giving us a glimpse of its colorful world in which you’ll battle a variety of monsters using a diverse range of unique equipment as you collect over 200 pets and take on action-packed boss raids with your friends for powerful gear. More relaxing activities such as fishing, mining, and more will also be included, and you can pre-register right now through the official dApp to get exclusive rewards.
In the meantime, you can also check out their own Telegram minigame called Tap Adventures to earn points during a play to airdrop campaign for a chance at earning a share of the $ADVTR ecosystem token.
3. Kuroro Wilds
Kuroro Wilds: Call of the Islands is a collectible RPG in which you build your own team of creatures to engage in real-time combat while crafting, mining, fishing and more. It’s part of the Kuroro Beasts gaming ecosystem, which also consists of an Axie-like browser-based PvP game called Kuroro Beast Brawl, and a free to play virtual pet sim on Telegram, Kuroro Ranch. It seems the entire ecosystem is moving over to Ronin, but as for Kuroro Wilds, you can look forward to it launching in alpha soon this year. Before that happens, you might be able to snag some special prizes through the new official partnership website linked at the end of this X thread.
4. Party Icons
Party Icons currently consists of a third-person battle royale and extraction shooter in which players engage in PvP shooter gameplay across many different maps, with plans to introduce more than 40 party games to the game’s ecosystem alongside capabilities for UGC content creation to foster creativity and enable true ownership using web3 features. Choose from a diverse cast of characters differing not only in appearance but also abilities while customizing your loadout with an array of different weapons and items. A closed beta for this stylish party game is planned to take place soon.
5. Xtremeverse
Xtremeverse is an anime gaming franchise that currently consists of one blockchain game: Battle Xtreme (BTX). Battle Xtreme is a third-person battle royale shooter where you play as anime characters while enjoying action-packed PvPvE gameplay. You can play it right now for free ahead of its upcoming play to airdrop campaign by downloading it on Android and iOS via the Play Store and App Store respectively.
6. Last Odyssey
Last Odyssey is a free to play mobile strategy that has set out to redefine the 4X genre by adding a 5th element to it to call it 5X: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate, and eXchange. Players get to build their own kingdom and raise their army to battle other player-controlled kingdoms while merging and upgrading collectibles. This web3 game is not yet publicly available, but is planned to undergo a open beta test during Q4 2024, when you can likely expect to see it go live on both Android and iOS devices. For the time being though, you can jump in the game’s 1st Kingdom airdrop event and start completing social quests for a chance of earning a share of a 1 million $ODY reward pool, alongside special prizes of up to 1600 USDT.
7. Infomon
Infomon is a web3 browser-based game that integrates X/Twitter to reward your social media posting. Collect Pokémon-like pets and train them by feeding them social posts to earn rewards. You also get to send them to hunt for Whitelist Fragments, and the AI-powered pets get smarter over time as you feed them more content, becoming an AI companion that will start interacting with you, forming your own AI-driven narrative. A closed beta test was recently held, and you can expect to see a lot more get added for the game’s upcoming launch, which seems to be sometime later this year. Next to training your Infomon, you will also be able to enjoy PvP and PvE modes, 3v3 battles, and even creating your own customizable land to give your X profile even more exposure.
