Blockchain game developer Skrice Studios has announced the launch of the Base-powered Web Ruby Marketplace for free to play mobile strategy game Heroes of Mavia, while revealing future plans the team has in store for their web3 game.
What Is the Heroes of Mavia Web Ruby Marketplace?
The Web Ruby Marketplace is a place for players to trade their in-game assets using Ruby, or in the future, $MAVIA tokens. It’s essentially a browser version of the Ruby Marketplace released inside Heroes of Mavia earlier this year. As such, it does feature cross-platform support, as you can connect your external wallet address to your game’s account, with each in-game profile having its own internal wallet. Using this web version of the marketplace does require connecting your wallet to the game’s website, so you’ll have to link it with your account if you want to buy and sell NFTs on PC.
Just like with the in-game marketplace, this browser-based version too lets you trade skins and decorations while viewing various economy stats such as top owners, total volume, total sales, owner distribution, and more. You can see your Ruby balance, owned items, and even a portfolio value which combines your Ruby balance with the value of the owned items to give you an overall value of your total balance in Ruby.
This launch is actually the start of the Community Stress Test phase for the web-based marketplace. As a result, it’s still only possible to trade using Ruby just like in-game, with $MAVIA integration to arrive in November this year. For now, the team wants to do live environment testing to make sure everything works properly before adding token support. When the $MAVIA token does get integrated, players will be able to not only trade items using the governance token, but it will also be possible to buy and sell Ruby using $MAVIA too.
Trade on Heroes of Mavia Web Ruby Marketplace for 1 Million Ruby Giveaway!
To celebrate this early release of the Web Ruby Marketplace, the first 30 days since the September 16th launch come with the opportunity to earn Ruby from a 1 million Ruby reward pool. Basically, every day, 100 transactions made through the Web Marketplace will be randomly picked, rewarding both the buyer and seller with 150 Ruby each. This means that 100k Ruby will still be available from this giveaway pool. For that, the team plans on choosing around 300 transactions at the end of the 30-day period to reward them with an unspecified share of 100k Ruby.
Heroes of Mavia Plans for the Rest of 2024
Following this major marketplace release, the studio will continue to provide Sterling, the CEO of the Ruby Marketplace, with the tools needed to continue monitoring and managing the Ruby economy and Ruby inflation to ensure the most active players are rewarded.
In October, the community can look forward to Mavia Land NFT integration, and the addition of a new hero: Warlord. Warlord is set to become a “powerful sidekick” to Mira, and as such will become a useful new hero to use when setting up your base defenses and embarking on strategic attacks. As such, the tweet from the official Twitter/X thread suggests that Warlord is “sure to shake up the meta for Ranked battles and Ruby battles.”
The $MAVIA token integration to the Web Marketplace is scheduled to take place at some point in November this year, the same month in which the Ruby Exchange will also go live. When the token integration will actually happen however depends on the data-driven results of the current ongoing testing period. This integration will also likely be celebrated with the launch of a new NFT mint to freshen up the available items on the marketplace. November will be wrapped up by making the Ice Bomb Trap possible to earn in-game. The Ice Bomb Trap lets you temporarily freeze enemy units raiding your base, making it easier for your towers to take them out.
For December, the Heroes of Mavia team will release Headquarters 9 (HQ 9) and a new NFT Crafting feature that they claim is “something that has never been done before in the whole web3 NFT and gaming world,” with more info to be provided later on. The Web Marketplace will be updated with the Arbitrage Tool, an add-on feature that checks the whole Mavia market to quickly give you the best available option, making it easier to trade items than ever before.
The Q1 and Q2 2025 roadmap is almost ready to be revealed as well, with the developers teasing that it consists of a lot of milestones for both gamers and traders to look forward to, making it “one of the biggest rollouts yet.”
