BoomLand Adds BOOM Bag Redemption to Hunters On-Chain

Web3 gaming publisher and ecosystem BoomLand has announced the introduction of BOOM Bag Redemption to blockchain battle royale Hunters On-Chain. This means that players can now upgrade their squad using these redeemed bags, which you’ll want to do if you want to unlock various game modes, as they now require having Hunters of high enough level to access more content to enjoy. The release of the redemption feature also brings more changes to the mobile and browser-based title. Let’s find out what they’re all about!

What Are BOOM Bags?

BOOM Bags are ERC-1155 NFTs that contain $BOOM, the upcoming core token of this blockchain gaming ecosystem. Players have been able to earn these assets throughout Season 1 BoomLand’s Play to Airdrop Event, which in total consists of 250 million $BOOM tokens distributed through these bags across 2 seasons, with Season 2 coming soon.

Players who earn these airdrop rewards can choose to claim the tokens at TGE, or redeem them now to upgrade Hunters, thanks to the release of the new redemption feature. If you choose to redeem them now, you will get off-chain $BOOM tokens, and if you ever want to turn them into on-chain tokens, you will have to wait 2 months from TGE to do so. No specific date for the TGE is currently available.

BOOM Bags come in 5 reward sizes and 3 different Redeem Dates. A bag can have 1000, 5000, 10k, 20k, or 100k $BOOM tokens, while the Redeem Date could be Month 0, Month 1, or Month 2. The Redeem Date represents the waiting time for token airdrops to unlock from TGE. This means that if you have a bag with a Month 0 Redeem Date, you can redeem all the tokens in the bag straight away when the TGE takes place.

For Season 1, half of the bags that were distributed had Month 0 Redeem Dates, while the other half consisted of Month 1 Redeem Dates, meaning players who have the latter bags need to wait 1 month from TGE to get their tokens on-chain.

As for Season 2, for which there is no start date at the time of writing, 50% of bags will have Month 1 Redeem Dates, and the rest will come with Month 2 Redeem Dates.

These are also tradable NFTs, so if you don’t want to claim the tokens packed within, you can choose to trade the bags instead on the Sphere NFT marketplace without any transaction taxes.

How Does the BOOM Bag Redemption Feature in Hunters On-Chain Work?

Anyone who has BOOM Bags can now use the new in-game redemption feature by heading to the Shop Tab, where you should see an option to redeem your bags to receive off-chain $BOOM. This feature should be live on web browsers and the iOS version as well, though you may have to wait a bit for the update to go live on Android before you can start redeeming from there.

Hunter Upgrading & More Changes

With this update, this means that not only can players now redeem their bags, but it’s also now actually possible to upgrade your Hunters on the Immutable version of the game. Upgrading your Hunter increases their level, stats, and earnings. Players with Premium and Genesis Hunters also have their energy limit increased.

To use the Hunter Upgrading feature, you need to have enough Hunter Shards and off-chain $BOOM tokens. There are now new upgrading costs, which you can see in the table below:

Hunter Upgrading costs

Players will be able to get 2 types of Season 2 Badges for upgrading Hunters: “Own a Level X Hunter” and “Upgrade a Hunter X Times”. The first type of badge is retroactive, while the second type is not, so if you own a Hunter at a certain level before Season 2 starts, you will get the corresponding badge once the season begins. If you want the upgrade badge though, then you may want to wait for the season to officially commence before you get to upgrading. Next to these two types of badges, players will also be able to earn badges for spending a certain amount of $BOOM tokens. These badges are not retroactive, so only the tokens spent during the season will count towards getting these new badges.

Hunter Shards now have a slightly higher chance of dropping from free to play Silver Boxes, as according to the changelog shared in the official Discord server earlier this week, the drop rate for Hunter Shards has increased from 78% to 79.86%. However, the drop rate for Hunter Shards has decreased in every other type of box, with Gold Boxes now having an 81.20% of dropping Hunter Shards instead of 84%, while the drop rate for these Shards in Magical Boxes has been lowered from 78% to 74%. The quantity of Hunter Shards in Magical Boxes, Legendary Royal Boxes, and Ultra Royal Boxes has been increased to 24, 150, and 1000 respectively.

Co-op Tickets no longer drop from boxes, meaning you can now only get them with $BOOM instead. The full list of changes to the loot tables of in-game hunt boxes can be found in this Discord post.

Minimum level requirements to game modes in Hunters On-Chain are now back, so in order to play Bounty Hunter, you now need a Hunter that’s at least level 3, while level 5 is needed for Boss Hunt, and level 7 is enough to let you access the Hardcore Hunt.
