The Season 1 Waitlist is now open until November 15th for web3 turn-based strategy game and AI-driven blockchain gaming platform Codyfight, and signing up for it will give you a chance to play and earn $CTOK tokens.
How to Register for Codyfight Season 1 Waitlist
You can sign up for the waitlist of the ecosystem’s first official season by heading to the link found in the official announcement post. This will take you to the official page containing various details on the upcoming season, as well as a short form at the bottom where you have to submit your email address, Twitter/X handle, and Discord username to successfully join the waitlist. By doing so, you are qualified to gain exclusive access to Season 1, alongside genesis holders, giving you an opportunity to play to earn the ecosystem’s Arbitrum-based native token, $CTOK. It’s important to note that waitlisted players need to have at least 7 days of daily activity by the end of the event to earn seasonal rewards.
If you miss out on this waitlist, it looks like you will still be able to play the same high stakes game mode eligible players will, but you won’t be able to compete for the prize pool, earning only from matches won instead.
What’s Included in Codyfight Season 1?
Waitlisted players and genesis holders will be able to participate in Season 1 from November 15th to December 15th, playing competitive matches in the ranked game mode, Llama’s Maze, for a chance at earning a share of the ‘massive’ $CTOK prize pool. This reward pool will depend on the number of matches played, so the more people participate, the bigger the prize pot will be. This means that you’ll likely need to wager a certain number of $CTOK tokens for each match, with a portion of the fees going towards the pool, while the rest go to the winner. At the time of writing, the developers didn’t reveal if there is any minimum prize pool or if it is entirely dependent on community activity, but what they have explained is that once the campaign is over, the team will double the accumulated prize pool. In an earlier tweet before the waitlist opened, the team teased that there will be millions of $CTOK up for grabs.
The activity-based prize pool, referred to amusingly as “Llama’s Poolz New Year Party Shmarty Campaign Piggy Bank Drop,” will be distributed based on rankings, so you’ll want to try and rank up to the top to win a bigger share of rewards. Here’s how the doubled reward distribution works across 6 different ranks:
- 50% of the doubled reward pool is reserved for Silver and Gold CAgents, the lower ranks,
- 25% goes to the more experienced players belonging to the ranks of Diamond and Platinum CAgents,
- and 25% goes to the GigaBrain and Geniuses CAgents, the best of the best.
For this season of browser-based sci-fi strategy game Codyfight, one of its 4 game modes that will be the main focus is Llama’s Maze, a ranked mode where players compete in 7 rounds of 1v1 strategic gameplay. Both players get to control their own Codyfighter, an in-game class-based robot character that can come with different stats and a customizable skill deck of 4 abilities you can use during a round. You can play with a free one or purchase another one from the official shop using $CTOK. Each round features a different 2D map, and may include various different elements you can use to your advantage to win the round and increase your overall match score. You have 1 minute for each turn, and you can only make 10 turns per round. Players can win the round by reaching the exit spot, catching Ryo by cornering him, as well as by getting kills. Other enemies pop up during a round, requiring you to adapt your strategy on the go. The player with the highest score after 7 rounds wins the match, getting wagered tokens while increasing their ranking for the seasonal reward pool.
You can take part in pre-season right now and practice in the free 4-round Sandbox mode to prepare for a competitive and tactical blockchain gaming experience. If you’re into programming, then you might be interested in using the game’s API to create your own AI-powered bots to let your Codyfighters play for you based on your code. To start creating your AI algorithm though, you will need to purchase subscription-based CAgents from the game’s official store in order to gain access to a unique CKey that acts as your API key. There are 14-day, 30-day, and 90-day Flex CAgents available, priced at 384 (~$2), 640 (~$3.2), and 1152 $CTOK (~$6) respectively.
