The MetalCore open beta started two weeks ago and so far things have been good. There have been a few technical issues, but so far, the MetalCore team has been on the ball, responding to issues and releasing several patches to try and fix the most problematic issues.
On top of that, they’ve revealed some of the hidden stats on NFTs, which in turn can give players stat boosts in-game, and they are holding a special, limited time sale for MetalPunk NFTs on September 25th, 2024!
MetalCore MetalPunk NFT Sale Details
A short-lived, barely announced, flash sale for MetalPunk-themed NFTs was announced by MetalCore. This mint features Non-Genesis MetalPunk Infantry and Genesis Mechs. Notably, the four MetalPunk Mech NFTs in this Genesis collection will be one-time mints, meaning they will never be minted again, making them highly sought-after. And while infantry do have their place on the battlefield, there is nothing like stomping towards the enemy base while controlling 20 tons of armored destruction!
The sale begins with a private event on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 6:00pm CST for OG Barons and Genesis Infantry NFT holders, with 50% of the supply reserved for them. This is a pretty short window, so you don’t want to miss it!
The public sale starts right after at 6:00pm CST and will continue until sold out. NFTs can be purchased using $MCG on zkEVM. Buyers who don’t have the required tokens on the Immutable zkEVM network will need to bridge their $MCG using Squid or the Immutable bridge (unfortunately, MCG tokens are not yet available for trading on the Immutable network)

Oddly, the team has decided to withhold the costs for these NFTs until shortly before the sale. We also don’t have any details about the NFTs themselves, nor the supply limit. It’s a bit strange to not provide this information ahead of time to your potential buyers. But if you’re interested, presumably more info will be available once the sale starts. NFT Stats Revealed
More Utility Comes to MetalCore NFTs with the recent reveal of some of the long-hidden stats on the MetalCore NFTs. Players can now see the following stats on their NFTs – Total Health, Shield Ratio, Energy, and Speed. Each stat will have a ranking between 1 and 100, with higher numbers being more rare.
Equipping these NFTs in-game gives players boosts to their stats while playing. There are still plenty of hidden stats yet to be revealed, but this is an important first step towards making each NFT truly unique!
How to Play and Earn with MetalCore Open Beta
And while playing MetalCore is fun, why not earn some tokens along the way?! Players who participate in this open beta phase have a chance to grab their share of 90 million in MCG tokens.
Rank up on the leaderboards with Marks from Missions, Merit from combat, and Valor from PvP. Each will be represented on their own leaderboard. The rewards pools are 40 million MCG tokens for the missions leaderboard (top 500 players), 25 million for PvP )top 50 players), and another 25 million for the PVX leaderboard (top 100 players).
It should be noted that Missions XP can only be gained by participating in the web-based Missions mini-game with your own NFTs. The other two leaderboards are open to everyone who plays the main, free to play, MetalCore game, no NFTs required. Though you will need at least a Bronze Tier pass to place on the leaderboards. This can be purchased with Holy Credits and/or Shards earned through the games or purchased with fiat.

What is MetalCore?
MetalCore is a web3-enabled game that is a cross between Planetside and Battlefield. It’s a first-person/third-person, sci-fi-themed FPS with numerous vehicles, infantry types, and loadouts. The game features instanced, faction combat. MetalCore includes vehicle, mech, and infantry combat, with a wide variety of combat styles and support options to choose from. Coordination with your teammates and faction members will be important.
During the Faction battles, each side tries to take and control various tactical points around the map. Tactical points provide in-game advantages for the controlling faction. Each player has a limited number of respawns per battle. Once those respawns run out, that player may no longer play in that battle. But, other players can take their place.
MetalCore includes both PvE and PvP zones. Players craft vehicles and equipment in Garages, and can upgrade and customize them with special skins and decals. MetalCore will also support Baronies, or guilds.
MetalCore is free to play and currently in open beta. MetalCore moved to the Immutable zkEVM network earlier this year, integrating with the Immutable Passport.
