Ragnarok: Monster World is gearing up for its soft launch on September 26th, with a full official release scheduled for October 1st. As the game prepares for its broader rollout, players will experience a seasonal structure, alternating between Pre-Seasons and Regular Seasons. These seasons are designed to keep gameplay dynamic and offer regular updates, focusing on testing and rewarding player participation.
Seasonal Structure Details
Ragnarok: Monster World’s gameplay will be divided into two distinct phases: Pre-Seasons and Regular Seasons. During Pre-Seasons, the focus will be on testing game updates, specifically Ragmon stats and affinities, without leaderboard rewards. These periods will emphasize community events and the introduction of new content. In contrast, Regular Seasons will activate leaderboard rewards, offering players competitive opportunities to earn prizes and recognition based on their rankings.
The first Soft Launch Pre-Season is slated from September 26th to October 10th, 2024, where players can engage with the game’s features without the pressure of leaderboard standings. This will be followed by the Beta Season, the first Regular Season, from October 10th to November 17th, 2024, during which players can earn rewards in ZENY, the game’s currency, based on their performance.
Each game season is designed to follow a cyclical pattern, alternating between Pre-Seasons, lasting 1–2 weeks, and Regular Seasons, lasting 4–6 weeks. After each Regular Season, developers will analyze player data to apply patches and make necessary adjustments, enhancing game balance and features. This structured approach allows players to test updates, refine their strategies, and prepare for competitive play.
Launch Phases and Regional Availability
The soft launch phase will grant early access to the game in select regions including Laos, Malaysia, and Bolivia, available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The official launch, set to expand to a broader audience on October 1st, 2024, will include major markets like Singapore, Brazil, the USA, and India.
Notably, some countries such as Russia, Germany, Japan, and Australia will be excluded from the official launch due to legal constraints; however, players in these regions can still access the game via an APK download from the official website starting October 1st.
Integration of Web3 Features and NFTs
Looking ahead to the global Open Beta launch, the game developers have revealed plans to integrate web3 elements to enhance the in-game economy. Key updates include:
- Off-chain to On-chain Ragmons: A limited number of Ragmons will be eligible for conversion from off-chain to on-chain each season. This feature will require players to use ZENY and meet specific MMR thresholds.
- Breeding Ragmons: Players will need both in-game and on-chain items to breed Ragmons. This feature, dependent on ZENY, will roll out after the ZENY Token Generation Event.
- Staking Ragmon NFTs: Select Ragmons will be eligible for staking each season, which will boost leaderboard rewards but lock them from gameplay use.
- Leaderboard System: A unified leaderboard will cater to both NFT holders and traditional players. NFT holders will enjoy a reward multiplier, offering greater incentives for participation.
- Genesis Tamer Reward Multiplier: Genesis Tamers, the rarest NFTs within the game, will offer owners enhanced ZENY rewards and access to exclusive features such as on-chain guilds.
Ragnarok: Monster World has announced a community engagement event, #RagmonIsHere, running from September 25 at 4 PM to September 28 at 4 PM (GMT+7). Players are encouraged to participate by posting their favorite game moments on social platform X with relevant hashtags, and sharing screenshots in the game’s Discord channel, #ragmon-is-here. The community will select 300 winners through emoji reactions, awarding prizes like Harpy and Lunatic awards to foster engagement ahead of the game’s global release.
