Super Champs, a Base-powered mobile gaming ecosystem, has announced the launch of the $CHAMP Staking Program to give more utility to Genesis NFTs and the platform’s core token, for which the TGE is drawing near.
What Is the $CHAMP Staking Program?
The $CHAMP Staking Program is a new staking program that lets players who earned $CHAMP tokens from the Super Champs Rewards Program of Season 1 to put their tokens to use to earn NFTs and other benefits, and will soon be available for anyone to use after TGE takes place. This staking dashboard is called Shroopies Arena, and it’s already been activated for those who took part in Season 1, staking entire token allocations to start generating Magic Shroopies. You can check it out here.
Once the TGE for the $CHAMP token is live, Season 1 players can claim their tokens and anyone can put in the number of $CHAMP tokens they’d like to stake. Doing so will allow you to earn Magic Shroopies every day. If you stake Genesis NFTs together with your tokens, you will get a bonus multiplier to let you generate a higher amount of daily Magic Shroopies. Multipliers stack, so the more NFTs staked, the bigger the multiplier. Staking early after TGE also gets you a whopping 500%+ bonus, so you may want to start staking right on the same day the token officially launches. Every day that passes after TGE will lower this bonus by 10%. If you “Claim & Stake” your allocated airdrop on TGE using the S1 rewards page, you will get both the day 1 bonus and another 200%+ extra.
What Are Magic Shroopies in Super Champs’ Staking Program?
But what’s the point of staking, what are Magic Shroopies? Well, these are special mushrooms that act as a new sort of loyalty currency through which you can redeem a wide range of different benefits. It’s not stated if they’re off-chain or on-chain, but you can get certain NFTs by spending them.
According to the official Medium post, Magic Shroopies will allow you to redeem exclusive in-game rewards and limited edition merchandise, while letting you access Shroopie-only content and giving you the opportunity to take part in bidding wars for prizes from various partners. The exclusive in-game rewards that you can get using Magic Shroopies include Super Champs NFTs and Soulbound NFTs such as exclusive playable characters, skins, and gear. There will be certain in-game content and quests that can only be unlocked using Magic Shroopies. If you want limited edition merch as toys, wearable merchandise, AI-related things, and “Super Champs Comic Series Volume 1, Nukeballer vs Wolfenwile,” you’ll want to have enough Shroopies, as they serve as the only gateway through which you can gain access to these physical prizes. When it comes to bidding wars, you’ll be able to use Magic Shroopies to take part in auctions through which you can attain more crypto rewards such as partnered tokens and NFTs, partnered memecoins, and “top secret” surprises from the blockchain gaming ecosystem “and beyond.”
No official TGE date for $CHAMP is available at the time of writing. You can still hop into Season 2 of Super Champs and earn rewards by staking rarer Genesis NFTs, as the introduction of Trait Multipliers has now affected how many Genesis Points each asset gives you. You can find Genesis NFTs on OpenSea, where the floor price is 0.1338 ETH at the time of writing. Season 2 started on October 19th and does not have currently have an end date. Back in September, Super Champs launched its dedicated L3 gaming chain on Base, as well as BuilderKit, a suite of mobile-focused tools to help blockchain gaming studios create high quality web3 gaming experiences that are set in the same ecosystem.
