Wild Forest Kicks Off Second Leaderboard Tour With Increased Rewards

Following the end of the First Tour, the second leaderboard for F2P mobile RTS Wild Forest is now live with a couple of updates for an even better play to earn experience.

What’s New in Wild Forest’s Second Leaderboard Tour?

The Second Tour gives players the opportunity to compete for bigger rewards thanks to an expanded total prize pool across all Divisions. Join any Division that seems suitable to your skill level and deck power and start winning PvP battles to earn leaderboard points for a chance at ranking high enough to earn one or multiple Trophy Packs. These Packs come in different types, and opening them could get you $WF tokens, NFTs, and in-game rewards that include Gold and Shards.

Speaking of Divisions, this Tour marks the introduction of Division 4, a new Division catered towards new players. This gives everyone the opportunity to play and earn, with Units of up to Level 5 and maximum rarity of Common allowed for this Division.

There are no more Unit lock-up restrictions, so you can now easily transfer Units, while keeping the Unit Marking System in mind. With this system, when you use a Unit for the first time in a Tour, they will be marked after just one battle, meaning leaderboard points will only go to the owner who first used them during the event. If you transfer marked Units to someone else, they won’t be able to earn points from those Units during the current Tour. Once a Tour is over though, the marks are reset, making it possible for a new holder to use them for the next event.

This marking system is a part of the web3 game’s updated Fair Play Rules, that you can read more about in this official blog post

The official announcement states that marks on Units will be visible in the marketplace for the next Tour. If you took part in the First Tour, then make sure to claim your rewards while this second one is underway by heading to the same announcement, where there is a link that will take you to the Rewards section of the Inventory page on the game’s official website. Players who don’t claim their prizes from the First Tour will not be able to claim them after this second weekly season is over.

How Does Wild Forest’s New Leaderboard System Work?

This is the 2nd Tour that is part of a new leaderboard system revealed earlier this month in an updated whitepaper.

The goal of this new leaderboard system is to give all players across varying skill levels the chance to compete and earn rewards, addressing “the fundamental challenges of web3 gaming caused by an open economy and asset ownership.”

To do this, the system consists of seasons referred to as Tours. They only last one week each, and the players with the highest number of leaderboard points at the end of a season are rewarded with Trophy Packs, which can contain Gold, Shards, NFTs, and $WF tokens.

There are 4 types of Trophy Packs: Copper, Bronze, Silver, and Golden Trophy Packs. While the first 3 types contain NFTs of varying rarity, the Golden Trophy Pack omits NFT prizes in favor of awarding larger quantities of Shards and Gold, while also giving players a better chance of earning up to 10k $WF tokens. Learn more about the contents of each Trophy Pack in this section of the whitepaper.

Every season consists of multiple Divisions that anyone can join whenever they want. Switching Divisions during a Tour however will reset the points you’ve collected for that season. Every Division has its own leaderboard and rewards, but also its own rules, such as limits to Deck cap and Building power, with the tougher Divisions providing higher caps to work with for a more challenging blockchain gaming experience. Overall, this system aims to make it balanced for players of all skill levels and deck powers, and should anyone use Units that exceed the limits of the Division they’re in, those Units will be adjusted accordingly to fit the Division’s restrictions.

Every win is rewarded with leaderboard points, and while there is no penalty for losing, there is actually a points decay mechanic in place that lowers the number of points you earn from winning battles in one day. This mechanic gives players “a soft limit to the number of daily battles” you can earn points from each day, so the more battles you play in one day, the less points you get. Points decay resets every day, but also when changing Divisions. Leaderboard points do not go towards the Trophy Road system.

The First Tour kicked off with 3 Divisions on November 18th, and you can see the specific criteria for each that continue to apply in this dedicated post for the revamped leaderboard system. If you want to play to earn various rewards and airdrops of the upcoming $WF token, which is having a Community Round in early December, then now’s the time to jump into the Second Tour by downloading the Ronin-powered Wild Forest for free on Android or iOS through the Play Store or App Store respectively.
