MapleStory Universe, the Avalanche-powered blockchain gaming ecosystem based on Nexon’s well-known side scrolling MMORPG, is officially hosting the 2nd Pioneer Test starting from November 10th, giving everyone the opportunity to play to airdrop from a prize pool of 5 million $NXPC tokens.
What’s New in MapleStory Universe 2nd Pioneer Test?
After hosting the first MapleStory N Pioneer Test back in July this year, developer NEXPACE is now back with a new playtest that comes with a variety of new quests to enjoy for a chance at earning exclusive in-game rewards and an airdrop of $NXPC tokens. Unlike the first test session, which accepted a limited number of participants who signed up through a survey, this 2nd round is an open beta test that lets anyone jump in from November 20th, 5:00 AM UTC, to November 29th, 8:59 AM UTC.
During the given playtest period, participants will not only play to airdrop through MapleStory N, but there will also be various other activities spanning across the entire web3-powered gaming ecosystem for more opportunities to earn $NXPC rewards. This means that this expanded playtest is not only designed to help test the web3 game itself like the first test phase, but also the stability of the entire ecosystem. Specifically, this means you will be enjoying the platform’s 2D web3 gaming experience in the form of MapleStory N ahead of its official launch, while using the Marketplace to take part in trading events.
$NXPC is the upcoming core utility ecosystem token that you have a chance of earning by participating in this playtest, with up to 5,000,000 tokens set to be up for grabs by accumulating airdrop points through a myriad of in-game Galxe quests while taking part in events with direct token rewards that can include trading NFTs, logging in daily, and participating in enhancement competitions. Once the web3 game’s official launch takes place, you will be able to convert these points into $NXPC tokens at an unrevealed rate. It looks like there will be other rewards to earn as well next to the ones shown in the sneak peek, but more detailed information on test prizes are planned to be revealed once the testing period actually kicks off.
Next to earning in-game rewards through a variety of $NXPC-focused events, players will also have the opportunity to secure their special In-Game Name (IGN) by participating in the IGN event in MapleStory N, where you will have to collect letters through gameplay to be able to create the IGN that you want. Referred to as the “Make Special Name” event in the sneak peek article, players will use actual collected Alphabet NFTs to create their unique username. Next to collecting tokenized letters, it looks like there will also be Numeric NFTs and Length NFTs to find as well.
The first Pioneer Test included more than 1000 testers, and is said to have resulted in an impressive 82% retention rate and 195,046 transactions processed “without the presence of a premium cash shop,” according to a new Medium post. If the closed test session went so well, then the platform’s first ever open beta test will likely continue to follow in these footsteps and bring even better performance metrics. It’s no wonder then that the Executive Director of NEXPACE, Sunyoung Hwang, together with his team, are excitedly looking forward to kick off this new beta test, who had the following to say in the same announcement:
“The results of our first Pioneer Test exceeded our expectations, and we are excited to scale up for this second Pioneer Test. As we introduce blockchain technology to the 21-year-old MapleStory IP, our goal is to further ensure ecosystem stability and enhance user experience as we prepare for the full launch.”
