Play and Earn in the Boss Fighters Economy Test

Boss Fighters, the free to play arena combat game where a team of four players fights against a giant, player-controlled mech. Originally conceived as an eSport, Boss Fighters is ready to bring their game economy online with a live beta test, starting on November 14th.

Here’s what you need to know!

How to Play and Earn in the Boss Fighters Economy Test

Players will be able to earn BFT tokens during the Boss Fighters Economy Test. But in order to earn, you will need to equip one or more Badges. And to get Badges, you will need Showrunner Contracts.

Showrunner Contracts are NFTs that allow owners to craft and recharge Badges in Boss Fighters. Players will be able to equip up to five (5) Badges at a time to try and maximize their earnings. However, unlocking each slot past the first (the first slot is free), will require a payment in FLEX. Players with Contracts can craft and recharge Badges outside of the game at https://economy.bossfighters.game/

Showrunner Contracts have cooldowns, so owners can’t just sit there and endlessly churn out new Badges. So serious players may want to have more than one. You can purchase Showrunner Contracts from other players on the Open Loot marketplace, or try your luck at opening one of the various lootboxes that are also available for purchase.

Play games with Badges equipped and ern BFT. However, during this test, you won’t be earning actual BFT tokens, as the token hasn’t launched yet. Instead you will receive Proxy BFT. This will convert to real BFT tokens at a later point.

Players can also boost their earnings by equipping upgraded gear. The more Perks your gear has, the better boost to earnings. You’ll find some random items and a bit of Cash after each match, which you can use to upgrade items. You can also buy FLEX directly from the Open Loot store. Merge items of the same type and rarity to increase their rarity level. Higher rarity items receive bigger bonuses from the attached Perks.

Additionally, equipping NFT skins for your characters, weapons and gear will also increase your potential token earnings.

Expect some adjustments and changes to how the rewards system works. This is a test after all.

If you want some items (including Badges) and game tokens to help you get started, you can pick up starter packs and booster packs on Open Loot. For free to play players, keep an eye on the Boss Fighters social channels as they will give away, temporary, ‘disposable’ Badges that players can use in-game.

Recharge Boosts for Economy Test

To help kick things off, the Boss Fighters team is giving players a couple of temporary boosts.

For the first 24 hours of the Economy Test, recharging Badges won’t require Sponsor Marks. Also, crafting and recharge times for Badges will be majorly reduced, slowly returning to normal rates over the coming weeks.

Leaderboard Rewards

On top of the regular game rewards, the Boss Fighters team also plans to run at least one weekly leaderboard with additional rewards for the top players.

To qualify for this leaderboard, players must spend at least 6200 Proxy BFT during the first week. Leaderboard rank is based on points earned from crafting and merging utility items. The top players on the leaderboard will earn Showrunner Contracts and Sponsor Marks.

After each leaderboard event ends, the team will take a moment to assess the results before launching a new leaderboard.

Boss Fighters Economy

Boss Fighters has a number of moving parts in their economy. And a lot is changing with this new playtest.

Previously players just used FLEX for all of their crafting needs, but now that will become more complex, as you now need Cash for crafting and merging items, FLEX for locking Item perks during merges and for crafting and recharging Badges, BFT tokens for crafting and merging digital collectible items, various items for dedicated crafters looking for specific bonuses, and Sponsor Marks for upgrading Showrunner Contracts!

Shew! That’s a lot! But the primary currencies to worry about are Cash, BFT tokens, and FLEX if you want to focus your crafting or own Showrunner Contracts. Visit the official Boss Fighters wiki for all of the details on the game’s economy.

BFT Token

BFT is the on-chain currency for Boss Fighters. Players can earn BFT by playing the game with Badges equipped. The BFT token will be used for crafting and merging digital collectibles, purchasing Arena invites, and securing shares of future airdrops.

BFT will have a cap of 1 billion tokens, with a majority of those awarded to players through gameplay. You can learn more about the BFT token on the Boss Fighters wiki.

What is Boss Fighters?

Boss Fighters is an asynchronous, arena combat game that pits a team of four players against one  Boss player – a giant, tentacled enemy that can smash apart buildings, shoot lasers, and even rip up the arena and throw parts of it at the fighters! The Fighter players have guns, rockets, grappling hooks, sticky bombs, and other weapon and gear options to assist in their battle against the Boss.

The Boss players have the option of playing the game through a VR headset, putting themselves directly into the action!

Boss Fighters is free to play. No NFTs or web3 wallet required! Boss Fighters is currently in pre-beta testing, but once live, it will run in seasons. During each season, players gain experience as they play, opening up new gear, cosmetics, and upgrades. These rewards may be wiped between seasons, but players will have the option of spending game currency to mint certain items into NFTs.

Boss Fighters includes skins, cosmetic, costume items, for Boss and Fighter players, and Weapon skins for the different Fighter weapon choices. All skins for Boss Fighters will always be cosmetic only – they don’t provide any in-game benefit – but they do look pretty cool!

Boss Fighters connects with Open Loot, so players don’t even need a web3 wallet to buy and sell digital collectibles for Boss Fighters. Character, Boss, and Weapon skins are already trading on the Open Loot marketplace
