The world of Splinterlands is buzzing with excitement as the game introduces a new promotional campaign, the Hall of Legends, following a community-approved proposal earlier this July. This special event is designed to expand the Rebellion set, bringing players a unique and thrilling experience.
Introducing the Hall of Legends
Starting Tuesday, September 3rd, Splinterlands will kick off the Hall of Legends event. This event will feature the release of two exclusive promo cards—a rare and a legendary—available for purchase starting the following Tuesday, September 10th. These cards will be available in a rotation every two weeks, with a total of ten unique promo cards to be released over the next five months. It’s important to note that these cards can only be bought during their release period and won’t be available through any other game packs or future sales.
Meet the First Legends: Elanor Bravefoot & Sanctus Vicar
The promo event will introduce players to new legendary characters, starting with Elanor Bravefoot and Sanctus Vicar. Each character comes with unique abilities that can change the course of battle:
- Elanor Bravefoot is a brave halfling from Fireboro who tapped into ancient magic to aid her city’s rebellion. Her special ability, “Blasphemy of Uul,” increases her power with the help of allied cards.
- Sanctus Vicar is a high priest who played a key role in his city’s fight against empire forces. His ability, “Cleanse Rearguard,” helps protect and cleanse allied units from negative effects in battle.
Let’s explore the impact of two new abilities, ‘Blasphemy of Uul’ and ‘Cleanse Rearguard,’ recently introduced in Splinterlands, and how they could redefine battle strategies for players:
Blasphemy of Uul: “Blasphemy of Uul” is an ability that strategically enhances a player’s offensive capabilities in battle. By providing an additional +1 to ranged power for every allied 0 mana card from the Chaos Legion set present on the field, this ability allows for significant scaling of attack power. In Splinterlands, where mana cost and card efficiency are crucial for victory, the ability to leverage zero-cost cards to amplify damage output without additional mana expenditure is a powerful tactic.
Cleanse Rearguard: “Cleanse Rearguard” serves a critical defensive role in the strategic setup of a player’s team. By removing magic debuffs from the last unit in the backline, this ability can safeguard essential support or high-value cards that are typically placed at the rear to avoid direct attacks but are susceptible to debuffs. In the context of Splinterlands battles, magic debuffs can cripple a unit’s effectiveness, impacting everything from their attack capability to their defensive stats.
The cards will be sold individually in Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), the game’s currency. A single unit of Sanctus Vicar will cost 3,000 DEC, and Elanor Bravefoot will go for 50,000 DEC. Players also have a chance to obtain a Gold Foil version of these cards, which are rarer and more powerful.
Leaderboard and Competitions
The event also includes a competitive aspect with a leaderboard. Players can climb the ranks by participating in all five promo events, with the top 500 players earning unique titles like “The Myth Hunter” or “The Saga Seeker.”
- 1st – 25th place: “The Myth Hunter” legendary title
- 26th – 150th place: “The Fable Scout” epic title
- 151st – 500th place: “The Saga Seeker” rare title
New Voucher Shop
Alongside the Hall of Legends, Splinterlands is also launching a new Voucher Shop on September 3rd. This shop will offer exclusive items, including the new Mana Warden card, which can protect allied units in battle. Vouchers, previously used for discounts on booster packs, will now be essential for purchasing special items in this shop.
New Character Mana Warden Debuts in Splinterlands
In a recent update, a new character named Mana Warden has been introduced. Known as Fallin Enderbeard in the game’s lore, this character comes from the Kingdom of Lyveria and played a key role in the defense of his city during an uprising against the Chaos Empire.
Mana Warden’s unique ability, Shield Ward, allows him to grant a protective shield to the unit positioned in front of him at the start of battle, enhancing defensive strategies for players. The character can be acquired with Vouchers, with each card costing 30 Vouchers and providing a 4% chance of being a Gold Foil, adding a layer of strategy and value for collectors and gamers alike.
