Following a 1-week delay, developer Faraway and Bored Ape Yacht Club creator Yuga Labs have globally launched blockchain racing game Dookey Dash: Unclogged as a free to play to earn game this September 19th with a whopping minimum $1 million prize pool up for grabs for the best players.
What Is Dookey Dash: Unclogged?
Dookey Dash: Unclogged is a web3 mobile and PC game with endless runner gameplay that revolves around surviving the sewers as long as possible as a customizable monkey driver.
Available for download on Android and iOS via the Play Store and App Store respectively, but also on Windows PC and Mac using the links in the official announcement or the game’s official website, players can dive in Season 1 and win Coins, Boosters, Golden Plungers, and more while trying to get the highest leaderboard score by surviving the longest in the sewers, where you have to dodge various obstacles but also hit heavy objects to increase your score. Dash through barriers and use power-ups to your advantage as you customize both your vehicle and driver.
Whenever you play a game mode, you consume 1 Energy. Everyone starts off with a total of 12 Energy, and that is the number up to which the game will automatically generate more Energy for you over time. If you don’t want to wait, you can get more Energy using Coins or as an in-app purchase. Players have the option to connect their Faraway account to the game, and in doing so are given the ability to create and sell 3D models while checking out community-made creations and adding them to your favorites. These models can also be sold through the Faraway Shop to make them usable outside this game.
Next to the main Championship mode for the season, players also get to complete various Arcade Missions in the Arcade Mode, such as collecting fragments in the sewers or reaching a specific. The Arcade Mode is the first game mode you’ll get to play in to get used to the game mechanics, features, and progression systems, after which you will eventually unlock the core Championship mode. Completing missions in Arcade Mode is rewarded with Stars which are used to progress through Star Journey milestones in the Arcade Mode, unlocking new story chapters, new Arcade Missions, as well as cosmetics such as new characters and vehicles. Stars also help you progress through the Arcade Pass, where you get to claim free Coins, Energy, and potentially more across 100 tiers. A premium battle pass for Arcade Mode called the Star Pass is available at a discounted price of $2.99 at the time of writing. The Championship Mode also has its own free Season Pass plus paid Pro Pass.
Dookey Dash was initially released as a skill-based NFT game by Yuga Labs last year, making the play to earn game available only for Sewer Pass holders, which was possible to claim for free by being a BAYC or MAYC holder. The blockchain title was playable for a limited time during January and February 2023, only to resurface at the beginning of this year with the name Dookey Dash: Unclogged, signifying plans to bring the game back as a free to play title and to back up the launch with a minimum of $1 million worth of rewards. Initially scheduled for a spring launch (which did happen in some countries), the anticipated Bored Ape title is now finally up and running, better than ever for everyone to enjoy some quality fast-paced web3 gaming and potentially earn some prizes while doing so for free.
Only hours since its worldwide launch on September 19th, and the web3 game is already at the top charts for free racing games on the App Store, while sitting at #35 overall on iOS at the time of writing.
How to Compete for Dookey Dash: Unclogged’s Minimum $1 Million Prize Pool
During each 90-day season, players will try to get the highest score possible from simply playing the game and trying to make their run last as long as possible to get the highest score. By ranking among the top players on the weekly and seasonal leaderboards, you get to earn in-game boosts and Golden Plungers. Golden Plungers are NFTs on ApeChain that are used to determine who gets to participate in a tournament at the end of the season. It’s through this tournament where you have a chance of winning token rewards, which likely consist of ApeCoin. Based on info from the official website, it seems these will be quarterly tournaments, giving players plenty of time to accumulate Golden Plungers from weekly and seasonal leaderboards before each prize-packed competition.
Yuga Labs Co-Founder Greg Solano recently tweeted that more details on how Dookey Dash: Unclogged players can win Golden Plungers will be revealed soon. That being said, prize pool details are also still under wraps, so we can probably expect to see more detailed info pop up nearer to the end of the season.
