Axie Adventure Revamps Homeland with New Mechanics and Enhanced User Experience

Axie Infinity has introduced Axie Adventure, an expansion to its Homeland game mode that allows players to use their NFT axies in a new Passive PvE Adventure mode. Previously, non-player characters (NPCs) were the only ones available for adventures, but this update puts the spotlight on player-owned axies. This marks a major shift in the game’s mechanics and strategy, providing more personalized gameplay and rewards for players who actively engage their axies in the game.

What is Axie Adventure?

In Homeland, players build settlements, craft items, and gather resources. With the introduction of Axie Adventure, players can now send their NFT axies into battle, where they can earn AXP (Axie Experience Points), enhance their abilities, and climb the Adventure Leaderboard for in-game rewards. This feature offers a unique opportunity for players to combine strategic decision-making with the benefits of owning axies, making them integral to gameplay.

The Passive PvE mode now allows axies to participate in battles that test their combat skills. Players can send their axies on adventures and await the outcome of each battle. However, this isn’t as simple as sending any axie into combat—new stats like Combat Levels, Adventure Fatigue, and Power Rate now determine how well axies perform.

Key Mechanics of Axie Adventure

  1. Combat Levels: Every axie has a core level and a corresponding Altar of Atia level, which determines the maximum combat level that axie can achieve. The higher the level, the better the axie’s chances in battle. However, there’s a limit: if the axie’s plot’s Altar of Atia isn’t high enough, it can only go so far in combat, regardless of its core level. This creates a balance between plot management and axie training.

For example, a level 60 axie has the potential to reach a combat level of 60, but it will need an Altar of Atia level 10 to achieve that. A lower-level axie, such as level 20, will have a lower maximum combat level, even if it reaches the same Altar level.

  2. Adventure Fatigue: Similar to how stamina works in other games, axies can only participate in a limited number of adventures each day before they become too fatigued. Players will need to be strategic about how they use their axies to ensure that they aren’t overworked. Fatigue resets daily at 8AM PH / 8PM EST.
  3. Evolved Rating and Combat Quality: Axies with higher Evolved Ratings perform better in combat. These ratings are determined by how many parts of the axie have evolved. The more evolved an axie is, the higher its Combat Quality, which directly boosts its power in battle. This new mechanic provides an additional use for collectible axies, beyond simply being rare assets in a player’s wallet.
  4. Power Rate: This stat measures an axie’s overall strength based on its evolved rating, equipment, and other stats. The Power Rate plays a crucial role in determining how far players can progress through Homeland’s plots and how many Battle Tickets they can earn. A higher Power Rate means more progress and more adventures.

New Adventure Leaderboard

Along with the gameplay updates, Axie Adventure introduces a Weekly Leaderboard where the top 200 finishers receive Ancient Coins and other in-game items. These rewards help players improve their axies’ abilities for future battles, making this an exciting way to keep players engaged. The leaderboard rewards will vary depending on the player’s rank, and new items like weapons, armor, and accessories will help boost axie performance in the game.

As part of this update, the developers have launched the Moonfall Chest Overflow event, running from October 17, 2024, to October 31, 2024. During this time, players will have the opportunity to collect twice the number of Moonfall chests they normally would. These chests contain valuable in-game rewards that can help players progress faster in Axie Adventure. This event is designed to coincide with the introduction of the new game mechanics, giving players a reason to jump back into the game and take full advantage of the updated features.

Plot Progression and Battle Tickets

In Axie Adventure, players can now clearly track their Plot Progression using a new user interface. As axies complete adventures, they contribute to the overall progress of a player’s plot, which in turn unlocks more Battle Tickets. These tickets are essential for sending axies into battle. The system works on a 1 ticket = 1 adventure basis, meaning players will need to manage their tickets carefully to maximize their gains.

Higher Power Rates improve plot progression, which leads to more available tickets. Players will need to strategize and upgrade their axies if they want to keep advancing in the game. Certain plot types will also generate more tickets, giving players with higher-level plots an advantage in the long run.

Axie Delegation

One of the more innovative aspects of this update is the introduction of Axie Delegation, which allows players to lend their axies to other players. This feature unlocks new possibilities for strategy and cooperation within the game. For example, players can borrow high-level axies to improve their chances of winning in battles, making this a valuable feature for those looking to climb the leaderboard quickly.

By integrating Axie Delegation with Axie Adventure, the game becomes even more community-driven, as players can collaborate to achieve higher scores and progress in the game.

Quality of Life (QoL) Updates

In addition to the major gameplay updates, Axie Adventure introduces several quality of life improvements designed to enhance player experience. Players can now transfer multiple items between plots more efficiently using a new system that supports multi-slot selection and streamlined package transfers. A newly added Storage Overview feature allows users to easily monitor storage capacities and access inventory management tools with greater convenience.

Additionally, improvements to the Auction House UX ensure that players are no longer redirected to the initial page when navigating back, but are instead returned to their previously viewed item or resource. Lastly, a fix to the Public Deposit Node flicker issue provides a smoother experience when interacting with the world map. These updates collectively aim to improve the overall fluidity and accessibility of in-game activities.
