The developers of melee-focused online arena game Moonray have just officially revealed details for the free mint of their Godspawn NFT collection, launching on Magic Eden this Wednesday, October 23rd, at 8 AM EST.
What Is Moonray Godspawn?
Moonray Godspawn is a dynamic NFT PFP collection consisting of 5000 unique digital avatars that come with exclusive utilities for holders to enjoy in the Moonray ecosystem. As such, these avatars, which embody “the power and mystery of Moonray’s cosmic lore,” unlock access to various web3 gaming experiences, allowing you to further explore the IP’s celestial lore.
NFT Utility
Owning a Godspawn PFP will give you access to exclusive in-game items, seasonal rewards, exclusive mints, playtests, as well the ability to use an exclusive soft-staking and questing platform.
Holders can look forward to using the soft-staking and questing platform at some point in Q4 2024. There will be raffles to enter and various quests to complete as you “engage with the community” to earn rewards, according to the roadmap on the mint page. Specifics not yet revealed at the time of writing.
Following the launch of the questing platform, PFP holders will be exclusively invited to a closed playtest of Moonray’s mobile-first autobattler game at some point in Q1 2025. A huge content patch will go live for the main game in the same timeframe, introducing community-requested gameplay features for both NFT holders and free to play gamers to enjoy. In Q4 2025, the web3 UE5 game will expand to more platforms, launching on Steam and consoles “alongside the largest content patch to date.” Last week, Moonray announced a PlayStation 5 launch for next year.
Here Are All the Details for the Moonray Godspawn Free Mint
From the collection’s total supply of 5000, there are 750 NFTs reserved for treasury, and 70 NFTs for the team and their partners. This means a total of 4180 PFPs should be up for grabs for this free mint on Magic Eden via the Ethereum network. While there is no mint price, you’ll still have to pay gas fees with $ETH.
This free mint consists of 3 phases, all taking place on October 23rd.
The first phase is the Guaranteed Phase, where each whitelisted wallet can mint one NFT starting from October 23rd, 8 AM EST. That phase will last for 3 hours. Once that’s over, the next stage is the Waitlist Phase at 11 AM EST, which only lasts an hour and lets eligible wallets mint 1 NFT per wallet on a first come, first serve basis. You can check if your wallet is eligible for any of these phases using the wallet checker on the official mint page. If you should be eligible but the checker says you’re not, then you may have to wait for a few hours for more wallets to be added to the checker properly, according to a recent announcement in the game’s official Discord server.
If any NFTs remain after the Guaranteed and Waitlist Phases are over, then you can look forward to free minting 1 NFT per wallet in the Public Phase at 12 PM EST. Otherwise, you will probably be able to buy the PFP from holders listing their minted assets on the Magic Eden marketplace.
It doesn’t seem like it’s possible to get whitelisted anymore, but it’s probably best to hop on the official Discord server and keep an eye out for any potential surprise opportunities. In the past few weeks, the community has been able to get whitelist spots by participating in a variety of Discord events, contests, and tournaments, but also by getting handpicked for being active community members who have been helping out new users dive into the action-packed web3 gaming world of Moonray.
Next to this free mint, October also marks the launch of the Alpha 2 update for Moonray on the Epic Games Store, introducing a new duel game mode and a new game economy that officially makes the sci-fi title a free to play game for both web3 and web2 gamers to enjoy while progressing through the fully free October Battle Pass to earn NFT rewards.
