Mint a Rebel Cars Race Track NFT in Round 2 on August 15th

Developer IXORVfx has announced Round 2 for minting new Race Track NFTs for their Elysium-powered racing ecosystem Rebel Cars is taking place on Thursday, August 15th.

What Can Be Minted in Round 2?

Round 2 features a new batch of Monza, Monaco, RedBull Ring & Spa-Francorchamps track NFTs for players to mint on August 15th, so if you missed out on Round 1, which was successfully sold out with more than $50k in sales, then it looks like you’ll have another chance at claiming ownership of the same fractional assets. While Round 1 came with a 50% discount on the first 10% of shares, it looks like this new phase will feature a 45% discount, but you can get a higher discount by purchasing shares using $RC tokens for another 10% discount.

You’ll be able to buy shares in these 4 Race Track NFTs, all based on real world race tracks: Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Redbull Ring, Spa-Francorchamp, and Circuit de Monaco. Each of these differs in track length, race length, weather, and price, among other specific factors. Every Rebel Track NFT features 1000 shares you can claim ownership of, but the prices of each share differs from one track to another. During the first round, it looks like each of these tracks sold 10% of their shares, so there’s plenty of room to claim a piece of ownership, and there seems to be no limit to the number of shares each wallet can get from these fractionalized assets.

Benefits of Owning Race Tracks

Essentially, each Rebel Track NFT or Race Map takes on a DAO structure, allowing you to gain exclusive ownership by buying shares that allow you to earn passive income from various parts that generate revenue for the developers, so the more shares you own, the more you can potentially earn. Players can look forward to seeing these tracks used in-game for various events, official championships, and time-attack competitions, all possibly accompanied by sponsorships and branding.

According to the FAQ section of the official Discord server, shareholders will earn passive income from all Web2 and Web3 race map in-game sales, from partnerships for the map they own shares in, from total betting revenue generated on that track, as well as from any branding and marketing space. If there is space available, shareholders will be able to place ads and billboards for free. Owning shares will also allow you to vote and play in map-related events that include 1v1 battles, championships, special races and so on. If you ever want to sell your shares, you will be able to do so anytime using the ecosystem’s official marketplace.

Next to all these exclusive benefits, the studio also plans on bringing annual real life experiences for “VIP shareholders” at a yearly Rebel Cars event or in collaboration with Vulcan Forged during their own event. These may include free tickets to F1 races, lotteries, giveaways, racing weekend academies, sim-rig specials, the opportunity to drive racing cars such as LMP, F2, GT3, Praga R1, or similar, and more.

How to Play Rebel Cars

Rebel Cars is a free-to-play racing game that is currently in early development on the Elysium blockchain. While you can currently buy cars and tracks as NFTs from the marketplace and official store, the game is still not available to the public. According to the roadmap from the whitepaper, the goal is to launch an alpha version in Q3-Q4 2024, which will allow players to race against AI opponents in a single player mode. It looks like VIPs will get exclusive early access to it in September. This single player experience will be improved with the Career Mode in Q1-Q2 2025, while an alpha version of the game’s online component is scheduled for a Q3-Q4 2025 launch.

Eventually, players will get to enjoy play to earn features through which it will be possible to earn $RC tokens by winning races, completing challenges, taking part in community events, and potentially more. The $RC token is already live, and is designed to be used for trading, renting, creating cars, participating in special events, and buying upgrade parts.
