Blockchain gaming studio and web3 ecosystem InfiniGods has announced the start of the Journey to Olympus, a series of events in free to play mobile game King of Destiny through which players have the opportunity to play to airdrop $GOD tokens by ranking on leaderboards.
What Is King of Destiny’s Journey to Olympus?
Journey to Olympus is a series of leaderboard-based events where players can compete for higher leaderboard spots in each event in order to earn special soulbound ERC-721 NFTs called God Chests, each of which includes $GOD tokens. The quantity contained in each chest varies based on your leaderboard ranking, and the developers plan to continue using God Chests to provide web3 rewards in future events after this series is over. Once the TGE for the token takes place, you will be able to open these chests to claim your rewards in the web3 game’s official marketplace.
Players don’t need to know anything about using blockchain technology to participate, with all of the events taking place right inside the free mobile app for a seamless web3 gaming experience on Android and iOS devices. This is made possible thanks to embedding smart wallets to player accounts to enable gas-free transactions that are completely hidden from the player, so you won’t need to sign any transaction, making for an unobtrusive blockchain gaming experience. According to the Medium announcement, the game is available in 177 countries and participating in these events only takes a couple of minutes a day.
Let’s find out how you can jump in the campaign’s first event for a chance at earning the upcoming token.
How to Play to Earn $GOD Tokens in King of Destiny Ahead of TGE
The inaugural event for the Journey to Olympus started on October 22nd at 12 PM EST and runs for 2 weeks, representing the first ever opportunity for players to play to earn $GOD tokens before the TGE takes place. We’ll go over the gameplay activities you can enjoy to stack leaderboard points, and then check out what the actual requirement is to properly quality for the leaderboard of this first event. Spoiler alert: you can’t win $GOD tokens for free in this first event. Unless something changes, you’ll need to make in-app purchases for any chance at qualifying, but if you play now for free every day, then you might be lucky to qualify in a future leaderboard event.
When it comes to the available gameplay-based activities, you can begin your play to airdrop odyssey by simply playing through the Campaign mode to earn points that go towards the leaderboard. The more points you have, the higher position you are likely to attain, meaning a bigger share of the $GOD reward pool that you can get.
Next to progressing through the campaign, you can also earn points by attacking other players using Attack cards, as well as Destiny cards for powerful Destiny Eye attacks. Points are also awarded for every 100k coins collected, and using Favor gives you more airdrop points as well. Coins are earned from drawing Coin cards and successfully attacking other players, and are used to build and upgrade your city so that you can continue progressing through the campaign. Favor is earned by drawing Favor cards, and using it allows you to summon Heroes and Pets. Heroes are needed for defending your city from player attacks, while Pets let you pick a card from the 3 that you draw, getting boosted rewards in the process.
As you do these actions (collecting Coins, using Favor, launching Attacks & Destiny Eye Attacks), you earn varying amounts of airdrop points based on the type of gameplay element in question, as shown in the image below.
Gameplay is luck-based and pretty simple: draw 3 cards to earn Coins, Favor, and the opportunity to launch an attack. If you happen to draw 3 of the same cards, you will get increased rewards. There are 4 types of cards: Coin cards, Favor cards, Attack cards, and Destiny cards. Coin and Favor cards let you of course earn Coins and Favor respectively, while drawing 3 Attack cards will let you raid other players to earn more coins. If you happen to draw 3 Destiny cards, or the Destiny Eye meter is full, then you can launch a strong attack that not only lets you earn Coins, but Favor and cards as well.
How to Qualify for the First Event Leaderboard
To actually become eligible for the event leaderboard though, you will need to be VIP Level 1 or higher by the end of the event. Getting this badge requires earning VIP Points, which you can do so by participating in in-game tournaments and making in-app purchases in the game’s shop, with the latter way being the faster method of getting the required badge, and actually the only way of getting it for this initial event. If you reach VIP Level 1 during the event, you will officially rank on the leaderboard, but you don’t need to wait for VIP status to earn leaderboard points. You can play and stack points beforehand, and all that progress will count when you get the VIP badge.
You need to have 250 VIP Points to be VIP Level 1, which is what makes you eligible for leaderboard rewards. Playing in Tournaments does not let you earn airdrop event points, but you do get to earn all the other in-game resources to help you build your city. Each Tournament lasts 24 hours and awards +5 VIP Points, meaning that it’s not actually possible to earn $GOD tokens for free in this event through gameplay alone, as participating in every tournament throughout the 14-day event period will only get you 70 VIP Points, requiring you to make in-app purchases. VIP Points and your gameplay progression do not reset after the event is over though, so playing now might give you an advantage in future events. To qualify for this first event, which certainly seems to be more of a pay to win, or pay to airdrop event, you’ll need to spend around $50 to get 250 VIP Points, as you get 100 VIP Points for every $20 spent.
It’s not clear how many more events like this there will be, but it seems they will all also last for 2 weeks, with each new event set to be announced shortly after one ends. You can start playing the Journey to Olympus events by downloading King of Destiny for free on the Play Store and App Store.
If you want more ways to get a $GOD airdrop, then you can start completing social quests on the Valhalla Missions platform, which has over 100+ partners whose NFTs give you bonus points and bonus multipliers for the social questing platform. Alternatively, you can also look forward to the minting of InfiniGods God Vaults, an upcoming new NFT collection that you will be able to stake to earn $GOD tokens. The InfiniGods community can get these new NFTs for free by holding Community and Ultimate Passes, as revealed in a new Twitter thread. The same X thread also reveals that holders of InfiniPasses, Elder Gods, and Elder God Sets will be airdropped a “generous allocation” of $GOD tokens at TGE, with more details on how that works available here.
