Play to Earn in Lumiterra Closed Beta Test #2 on November 11th

After hosting a successful playtest with over 800k+ $RON in transaction volume and 14.9+ million transactions, the developers of upcoming free to play web3 MMORPG Lumiterra have announced that the Closed Beta Test #2 (CBT#2) will begin on November 11th, allowing eligible players to jump in a much improved blockchain gaming experience.

What’s New in Lumiterra CBT#2?

This second closed beta playtest brings plenty of improvements over the first one, including new ways to play and earn from a bigger prize pool, global servers for smoother gameplay, and the addition of 3 new gameplay features. The 3 new gameplay-related features were kept secret in the initial announcement near the end of October, but now seem to have been revealed this week following the official X thread and blog post by the Ronin team.

Based on the latest info, it looks like the 3 mystery gameplay features are the following: Equipment Enhancement & Enhanced Lottery, Centennial Trials, and Escort Slime. Depends on how you look at it though, as next to unveiling these features, which we’ll cover in a moment, the Ronin announcement also has new details covering the introduction of a new onboarding system in the Land of Departure. The overhauled beginner missions will have NPCs Gunner, Nash, and Hsaki teach new players all the gameplay mechanics to help you have an enjoyable web3 gaming experience. The latter two NPCs join Gunner in helping new players out, meaning that while Gunner introduces gameplay basics, players will afterwards be guided by Nash to learn about gathering, crafting, and upgrading, to then complete their tutorial with Hsaki, from whom you will learn about leaderboards, Dungeons, token tasks, and more features.

Dungeon Updates: Centennial Trials

When it comes to Dungeon updates, players will now find that there are 6 difficulty levels to choose from. Difficulty levels affect the score you can get from beating Dungeons, so you’ll want to try and win in the higher difficulties for higher scores, helping you get better rankings for a chance at winning higher rewards.

Next to these new options that add more challenging gameplay, you can also look forward to fighting your way through a new Dungeon: Centennial Trials. This Dungeon consists of 9 new levels to progress through, with each level featuring 10 increasingly-challenging stages. You’ll be able to complete daily challenges in order to earn level rewards, while also potentially snagging more prizes through the Centennial Trial Prize Draw, which has a varied prize pool that is said to increase every 30 minutes.

Equipment Enhancement

Thanks to Equipment Enhancement, players will now be able to upgrade their gear above Level 1, and doing so will be rewarded with a lottery entry to the Enhanced Lottery. Every time you enhance equipment, you get another entry to the lottery. Using the Equipment Enhancement feature though will require having enough $RON tokens and the right materials as well. After you enhance a piece of gear, you will be able to spin the wheel in the Enhanced Lottery for a chance at winning 70% of the prize pool, which consists of $RON tokens. If you lose, 25% of the fee you paid for enhancement will be added to this lottery pool.

Escort Slime

Escort Slime is an open-world, team-based PvP event where one side has to protect and guide a Slime to its destination, while the other fights the defenders to try and stop the Slime from reaching its goal. It’s not stated if there will be more than 2 teams, but it looks like each team will have its own Slime to protect, earning rewards for keeping it safe while taking down Slimes from opposing sides, with 3 different Slime Levels set to be available: Emerald, Aqua, and Golden.

Next to enemy players, various monsters will also stand in your way as you try to get the Slime to the desired location within a certain time limit.
