Developer TeamNDUS has announced that a free mint is coming soon for their sci-fi third person shooter Xociety, through which participants will have the opportunity to acquire a limited number of Corporate Shares. Let’s find out what this mint is all about and see the different ways in which you can already work towards getting these upcoming assets.
What Is the Xociety Corporate Share Free Mint About?
This free mint is about giving the web3 gaming community the opportunity to snag Xociety Corporate Shares (XCS), which are in-game shares of 5 different in-game corporations that will act as DAOs through which you can unlock governance, access to airdrops of the $MCT token, and more, including numerous exclusive in-game benefits. By becoming a shareholder of these virtual corporations, you will be able to earn a piece of various in-game sales, while getting priority access to future events and rare items. The exact perks vary depending on which corporation you have shares in, as seen in the image below.
There doesn’t seem to be info on maximum supply, but you can head on over to the official Premint page linked in this Twitter/X announcement for a chance at being among the 100 winners who can get one Corporate Share.
Want to get more than one XCS? You’ll then want to become an NTx holder. Here’s how!
How to Get XCS
There are 5 different ways to get XCS, 3 of which have been revealed at the time of writing: holding NTx, actively using the Engage bot in their official Discord server, and by completing various missions through a new questing dashboard. If you didn’t already earn NTx by participating in Xociety’s biggest playtest earlier this year, then these are the current methods to becoming an NTx holder.
NTx is a soulbound token (SBT) on the Sui network that acts as an in-game currency you can earn through the Engage Discord bot and via playtests, using it to redeem various rewards. By stacking up NTx, you have a chance of collecting enough to spend on access to the free mint, allowing you to get random shares. Next to spending NTx on XCS, the currency can also be converted to the upcoming $MCT token. In the #earn-ntx channel of the Discord server is a link to a Google form you’ll want to fill in to properly register your Sui wallet so you can start earning NTx through the two previously-mentioned activities. As of writing, NTx holders can’t spend their stash on the free mint yet, and it’s not currently clear when that will become possible. Given that not all methods of earning XCS have been revealed so far, there might be plenty of time until the free mint actually takes place. Whether you want to hold onto your accumulated NTx until then, or convert to $MCT is up to you.
By doing social tasks and more through the Engage bot, you can earn points to secure a share of NTx and XCS airdrops on a weekly basis. The total NTx reward pool over the course of 2 months, starting from around October 24th, is 96,000 NTx, while the total number of XCS you can get during this time period is 16,000. These total reward pools are distributed on a weekly basis, with 12,000 NTx and 2000 XCS up for grabs every week. Here is how much you can get of each based on your weekly ranking:
- Top 25: 100 NTx + 20 XCS each
- 26th-51st: 60 NTx + 10 XCS each
- 52nd-152nd: 40 NTx + 6 XCS each
- Remainder raffle 200 spots: 20 NTx + 3 XCS each
Rewards are sent to the Sui wallet you submitted to the Google form.
If you want to earn NTx through playtests, you should head to the #play-xociety channel to submit your EVM (MetaMask) wallet address, making you eligible for regular playtest sessions that reward skill-based gameplay. Xociety can be downloaded on Windows PCs using HyperPlay, where you’ll want to connect your MetaMask wallet before playing. Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found here. It’s not stated how much NTx and/or XCS you can earn from participating, as that likely varies from one test session to the next.
The 3rd and currently final way of earning Xociety Corporate Shares is by completing XCS Missions. These will be available through a new questing dashboard that was announced on November 4th to be launching “tomorrow,” so you may see it already live by the time you read this. There will be daily and weekly missions that award you with XP, which is converted into NTx.
