Reviewing the Dark Machine: What You Need to Know

Dark Machine is a AAA team-based PvP third-person shooter game where mechanized robots fight each other in a battle arena. Fused with NFTs and NFT staking mechanics, the game personifies the Play to Earn (P2E) system. Players will earn MXNA tokens by participating in 7 versus 7 matches, completing quests, and trading in-game items. Having completed their NFT airdrop recently, Dark Machine has set things in motion for more players to join their universe and participate in battles.

Dark Machine Gameplay Mechanics and Storyline

Built with the latest technologies and on Unreal Engine 5, Dark Machine combines forces with eSports and advanced tokenomics for in-game transactions. In a world where dark energy consumes everything while twisting around itself, players in mechanized robots fight to survive. Players, in an effort to survive in the dark world, must upgrade their mech robots regularly to build machines of destruction.

Set in the year 2149, the Dark Machine is played in the aftermath of a global-scale eruption, which led to the formation of a volcanic mountain range. Players must use effective gameplay strategies to win over opponents, collect randomly spawned energy, and take control of pods from rivals.

Dark Machine uses its power from Immutable’s ZK-rollup technology, which is expected to provide a smooth gaming experience. This will grant a better gaming experience and enhance the scope to conduct fast, secure, and gasless transactions.

CEO of Meta-X, Mr. Takashi Murakoshi, says, “We are excited to announce our partnership with Immutable, and together, we look to provide new gaming experiences through our player-focused games and Decentralized Competitive Gaming platform that will allow more players, more rewards, more of the time.”

The key to winning in Dark Machine is the effective upgrading of the mechs. Increase in size, strength, and ability to cause havoc in the arena, players are also expected to craft unique strategies for movement and attack tactics to gain the upper hand in the game.

Combined Expertise in Japanese Anime Legends

Two esteemed Japanese Anime artists, Goro Taniguchi and Tenjin Hidetaka, will contribute to game development. Mr. Goro is working as a creative producer due to his work in One Piece Film: Red and Code Geass. Mr. Tenjin, on the other hand, is the Chief Mech Designer, a post well-deserved, especially considering the designer’s work in the Macross and Gundam series.

This is one of the reasons the mechs in Dark Machine have a traditional Japanese culture touch. From the looks, the mechs in the game have a subtle hint of samurai warriors.

Game Modes in Dark Machine

The game is still in Early Alpha Build, which means the developers are continuously listening to the player’s feedback and making necessary changes. While these changes are user-centric, they help improve gameplay as well. At present, there’s only one gameplay mode, the 7vs7 arena battle.

7 players on each side will go to battle with their mechs. Every player can plan their gameplay considering their mech’s strengths, specialties, and weaknesses. The battles are intense as the mechs run all around the arena to win over their opponents.

To build a winning strategy, the players must understand everything there is to know about their mechs. Plus, get familiar with all the weapons every mech can be integrated with, including their damage capacity and range.

The game is built on democratization grounds. This implies the players can also host tournaments while bringing all the benefits of an eSports event.

NFT and Tokens to Complete Different Processes

The MXNA token will provide utility and value within the game, allowing players to improve their gameplay. Launched on the SwissBorg launchpad, the native game token underwent a Token Generation Event (TGE) in April 2024. With a vesting period of 12 months, the developers received handsome funding at TGE.

Dark Machine allows for soft NFT staking, allowing players to earn while holding NFTs in their wallets. However, there’s a caveat. Failure to keep the NFT in the wallet for the predetermined time means the user will lose all points earned until that exact moment.

A total of 333 NFTs are available to purchase from OpenSea, and players will need ETH to buy NFTs. At present, the game only has one NFT, Dark Machine VIP Access. Owning this NFT will help you gain early access to the game and exclusive in-game items.

However, it is expected Dark Machine will introduce other NFTs based on the mechs, their weapons, and the land on which players compete.

Dark Machine is built by Meta-X, which is a Dubai-based web3 game development studio. Meta-X has some creative and technical powerhouses and industry veterans who have earlier worked in GREE, Capcom, Sega, Square Enix, etc. Dark Machine is one of the 100 games the studio has launched.
