Timefront Is Launching TimeKeepers Free Mint on October 23rd

Timefront, a blockchain RTS that combines web3 technology with user-generated content (UGC), has announced the launch of the TimeKeepers free mint on October 23rd at 2 PM UTC on Xterio’s launchpad.

What Are Timefront’s TimeKeepers?

TimeKeepers are mysterious artifacts that grant powerful benefits and exclusive rewards to their holders in the fantasy world of Timefront. The genesis collection comes with a total of 777 NFTs on the Ethereum network, which are divided into 3 different rarities: Rare, Mythic, and Fabled. Each rarity differs in the perks it provides.

  • Rare TimeKeepers represent 60% of the collection’s total supply, and provide holders with a points airdrop on TGE, alpha and beta test invites, free guild creation, direct access to the developers through a secret channel, exclusive profile cosmetics and Discord perks, and early previews of game content.
  • Mythic TimeKeepers take up 30% of the total supply, and feature not only all of the benefits of Rare NFTs, but also a bigger points airdrop, day 1 booster pack discounts, whitelist access to exclusive mints from the game’s partners, and the option to send out alpha and beta invites to your friends.
  • Fabled TimeKeepers are the rarest NFTs from this collection, making up only 10% of the total supply. Owning this asset unlocks all Rare and Mythic Rewards while rewarding you with special event pack airdrops and a ‘massive’ points airdrop at TGE.

TimeKepeers Free Mint Details

Last month, the developers announced an official launchpad partnership with Binance Labs-backed Xterio to bring the free mint of this NFT collection over to the growing web3 and AI gaming ecosystem. All 3 rarities, Rare, Mythic, and Fabled NFTs will be up for grabs through their platform on the Ethereum network on October 23rd at 2 PM UTC. Whether all 777 NFTs will be up for grabs has not been specified at the time of writing.

Only whitelisted users can get access to this free mint, as the collection is dedicated to “early adopters, prominent community members and partners,” per their FAQ in the official Discord server. You might still be lucky enough to win one of the 5 spots being given away through Premint if you can do it on time. Completing Zealy quests could also land you among the few handpicked for the FCFS Timelist. Other ways the web3 gaming community could have increased their chances of securing a whitelist spot, be it a guaranteed spot or a FCFS Timelist, included boosting the Discord server, actively engaging on social media using the Engage Bot, participating in various events and contests, leveling up through the Mee6 Bot to unlock one of 2 level roles, and actively participating in Discord conversations while supporting the web3 strategy title on social media platforms. Join their Discord server and keep an eye out for any potential final opportunities.

What Is Timefront?

Timefront is a free to play web3 RTS focused on enabling user-generated content by providing the web2 and blockchain gaming communities with the tools needed to create custom games like strategy fans used to in traditional strategy giants such as Starcraft and Warcraft 3.

Play as one of 5 different races in a high-fantasy world made in Unreal Engine 5 that integrates web3 features to foster a true creator economy. Enjoy real-time strategy gameplay centered around macro-management mechanics that reward better tactics over multi-tasking. The game also uses deckbuilding elements for the preparation phase, allowing you to create a loadout consisting of your desired Race, Units, Hero, Artifacts, and abilities that you would like to use in a certain match of any game mode. This gives you the freedom to make various strategies and try out a number of different playstyles, and if you see your plan not quite working out mid-match, then you can try changing things up by taking over Mercenary camps to unlock new Units, Artifacts, Technologies, and bonuses to use for a potential advantage. Heroes, Units, and Artifacts will be in-game NFTs, and the Hero you pick affects which Units and Artifacts you can put in your loadout. Continuously using these assets will level them up to unlock new abilities. Every Hero or Unit can have only one ability selected.

Each map consists of Provinces and Settlements you can conquer to expand your territory. Every Province has a couple of Settlements that once conquered provide you with units, an in-game currency, and the option to build structures in that area. Gathering resources isn’t done by using workers; instead, you automatically generate them by having buildings next to resources but also by taking over more Provinces. According to the whitepaper, AI bots have been finetuned by neural network experts to deliver a more competitive experience that “actually feels like playing against a human instead of a machine.”

Game modes will include a single-player campaign, AI skirmish, free custom games, and multiplayer modes. Online matches will let players pick in-game NFTs and a free rotating set of assets that change every week. In multiplayer game modes, you can play to earn tokens and ephemeral packs. These packs contain assets usable in-game for a certain limited period of time, but it looks like you will have the option to mint them into fully-leveled NFTs at market price if you want to keep them.

The developers want to harken back to the golden era of RTS games by bringing in-depth strategic gameplay and the possibility for players to develop a wide range of community-made custom games that could maybe one day even define new genres, while using web3 to encourage creators to make their ideas come to life and monetize them in the process. To achieve this blend of UGC and blockchain, the team has created the game’s own custom editor, the Worldshaper SDK. Creators will be able to use the editor to develop their own strategic gameplay experiences and retain true ownership over them instead of losing the rights to their work that could potentially become popular like certain mods have throughout gaming history. This also means that modders are incentivized to build with this game editor thanks to the option to monetize their creations. To truly give everyone the freedom to make diverse custom games, the developers will let players have access to “all our levels, assets, and code to modify, publish, compose and monetize custom games.”

You can sign up for the upcoming beta version by leaving your email address on the game’s official website, which also has a link to a 46-page PDF whitepaper for more info on everything you can look forward to in the future of Timefront. According to the 4-stage roadmap, alpha and beta builds could go live at some point during Stage 2 (Q4 2024 – Q1 2025), at the end of which TGE is supposed to take place. The beta phase will finish at the end of Stage 3 (Q2-Q4 2025) and feature multiplayer game modes, production-ready SDK, community mods, and the first Act of the game’s campaign. Stage 4 (2026) will be about delivering the second Act while adding more features such as experimental game modes alongside new assets, including more maps, Units, Heroes, and Artifacts.

In the meantime, you can get an early look at the game by watching this exclusive gameplay teaser on Twitter/X.
