Multiplayer artillery arena strategy game Space Mavericks is getting a new NFT collection called Locus Fleet: Special Proto Craft, and you can participate in a free mint for it on September 26th by getting whitelisted. Here’s everything you need to know!
Mint Info
A total of 4500 whitelist spots are up for grabs for this upcoming free mint that will take place on the Polygon network using the game’s official website as the actual launchpad. The announcement on Twitter/X mentions that the team has 350 confirmed collabs and that even more are on the way. What this means is that these partners will be providing the community with raffles for more chances of getting whitelisted for this free mint alongside the studio’s own campaigns.
There will be no public sale for this collection, nor any first come, first served (FCFS) phase, so you need to get a whitelist spot to participate, for which it is said that there will be plenty of chances to get. If you do get it, you will have the opportunity to mint a Locus Commander for free. This special tier spaceship comes with crafting utility while also providing an Alpha Pack, special perks, and a multiplier, according to the video embedded in the official post. More utility details are revealed in whitelist campaign pages. Basically, minting this NFT gives you a playable spaceship for the upcoming alpha version of the web3 game, scheduled to launch at some point in October. The Alpha Pack that comes with this asset is said to consist of an Avatar, 5 Golden Tickets, and bonus Federal Funds. By playing with this spaceship, players will get an unspecified boost in Space Mavericks’ ongoing Play to Airdrop Campaign, which kicked off in June this year with a reward pool of 13 million $MVRK tokens. The TGE for $MVRK has been delayed to October or early November. Whenever the beta release for this blockchain game happens, this early adopter NFT will gain more utility, including the ability to upgrade to a spaceship of a higher tier in a deflationary way, while also giving holders special perks for PvE boss fights and extra loot.
Let’s check out what you can start doing right now for a chance at getting whitelisted!
How to Get Whitelisted
Following news of the new collection on August 29th, the developers launched 6 different whitelist campaigns on September 4th, including on platforms such as CARV and Galxe. The quests you have to do on them are generally simple social tasks, with each campaign giving you differing numbers of whitelist spots. Tasks can include joining the game’s Telegram channel and following them on Twitter to playing their PC and mobile Telegram game, Boss Hunt, which has players fight various bosses while mining in space, upgrading your fleet, and completing quests, collecting credits along the way for a chance at getting a share of the upcoming $MVRK token airdrop. Some campaigns come with 100 spots, and others have either 25 or 10 spots up for grabs. Each seem to be based on a lucky draw, so you may want to take part in all campaigns for a better chance at securing your whitelist spot.
Next to these quest platforms, you can also try your luck in raffles hosted by the game’s partners. Goliath Pioneer holders are getting exclusive giveaways in the official Discord server for Space Mavericks, while all Ogami Mage owners could end up getting auto-whitelisted. There are around 200 Ogami Mage holders, but as the team wants to incentivize active participants, holders of these NFTs might end up having to fill out a form to confirm their interest in securing a whitelist spot. The official Medium post also reveals that those who ranked in the top 100 on the previously held Phase 2 Adventure Mode leaderboard will get guaranteed spots for the free minting of this new collection.
