Nexus Interactive, the Animoca-backed web3 gaming studio behind Everdawn: Champions, a free to play turn-based strategy game that launched in early access on the Epic Games Store in September this year, has announced the launch of its own Free Mint Whitelist campaign during which you can earn a WL spot to grab one of their upcoming VIP Passes.
How Does Nexus Interactive’s Free Mint Whitelist Campaign Work?
The campaign started on October 17th at 00:01 UTC and will keep going until November 6th, 23:59 UTC. During this time, there are a couple of different ways to get a whitelist spot for a free mint of one of the 999 VIP Passes on the Base chain. You can only get one VIP Pass per wallet, so once your account gets a whitelist spot, you won’t be able to get any more of them.
Test your luck and strategic skills by taking part in 4 main types of events, each with varying amounts of whitelist spots up for grabs:
- Champion NFT staking (80 spots)
- Weekly leaderboard questing based on accumulated Silver Coins (80 spots)
- Weekly Everdawn: Champions Play Weekends & Raffles (80 spots)
- Discord events (30 spots)
NFT Staking
For the first category, 80 accounts that have the highest number of NFT Champions staked will win a whitelist spot. This activity ends on October 22nd at 12:00 UTC, so you’ll want to make sure you’re staking as many Champions as you can by that time for a chance at ranking high enough to get a whitelist spot. You can browse for male and female Warriors through the Questing Realms web app, containing links to purchase them on OpenSea via the Ethereum network. The floor price for women Champions is 0.019 $ETH at the time of writing, while the floor price for male Champions is currently 0.0242 $ETH.
Weekly Leaderboard Questing
If staking isn’t your thing, then you can try your hand at earning Silver Coins across the main game and its web-based companion app, Questing Realms, by completing a variety of quests and by progressing through the Open Beta Season Battle Pass. A total of 80 spots has been allocated to this weekly category, which is divided into two top 20 leaderboards. This means that you can win a whitelist spot from this activity in the following 2 ways:
- Top 20 winners on the weekly leaderboard counting Silver Coins collected from both the tactical 3D game and the browser-based app during each week
- Top 20 participants with the highest amount of Silver Coins collected throughout the duration of the whole campaign
Play Weekends
Play Weekends are designed to reward the top players in Everdawn: Champions with whitelist spots by being among the 8 highest-ranked players in one week. Next to there being top 8 weekly winners rewarded for their tactical skills, the developers will also be hosting free raffles throughout the campaign for a lucky chance at securing your WL spot, according to this Medium post. Interestingly, the official Discord announcement refers to these raffles as being for “Game Play Milestone achievers,” so I guess it won’t be long before we find out how this works.
A total of 80 spots has been allocated for this competitive and raffle-based category.
Discord Events
Only 30 spots are up for grabs for events hosted in the game’s official Discord server. These events include contests as well as raffles. Raffles in this case refer to the ones hosted through the Engage Bot, and it looks like you’ll need to connect your wallet and buy a role to give you access to these raffles. You can earn points for this system by doing social tasks in the dedicated #engage channel, and once you get enough points, you can purchase a role through the #engage-marketplace channel. There are 3 roles available with varying costs and limited spots for each: Swordsman (80 points), Arcane Archer (150 points), and Warden of Realms (250 points). If you want to have a better chance of winning one of these gated raffles, then you’ll probably want to get the Arcane Archer role or the most expensive one to maximize your odds.
What Is a Nexus Interactive VIP Pass?
The VIP Pass is your ticket to the studio’s upcoming airdrop of its own token, with each holder of this NFT set to receive a random number of tokens. It also gives you VIP access to ecosystem launches and partner projects, as well as potential partnership benefits.
Alongside these perks, minting a VIP Pass on the Base chain will also give you a VIP Lootbox, which is a game asset for Everdawn: Champions that contains the following:
- Common Champion NFT — Bow & No Armor
- Unique Cosmetic Set: Golem Skin, Ornament & Card Backs (3 Rarities)
- Core Gold Packs 5–20
- Each Questing Realms Potion: 20–120
- Silver Coins: 850–4000
- NFT Champion / Woman Champion (20 randomly raffled in total out of the 999 VIP Passes, 10 Champions and 10 woman Champions)
An official date for minting VIP Passes is not available at the time of writing.
