After revealing plans to add player progression and profile features for Season 1 of free to play to earn party game Forgotten Playland, and teasing Fluffy Points in a few social media posts, developer Duckland Games and publisher Vermillion Studios have now officially announced its very own Play to Airdrop Campaign, during which you can collect those points to earn an airdrop of the $FP token. Here’s everything you need to know about this fun event that will kick off with the start of Season 1, which is scheduled to begin together with the game’s launch on the Epic Games Store at some point in November 2024.
How Do You Earn Fluffy Points in Forgotten Playland’s Play to Airdrop Campaign?
Throughout this season-based campaign, for which we don’t have a specific end date at the time of writing, players will be rewarded with Fluffy Points for their playtime spent in the cute web3-powered social party game. These points will be earnable specifically for Season 1 in a couple of different ways. Whether it will be possible to do so in future seasons has not been confirmed yet. What we do know however is that all Fluffy Points will be converted to $FP tokens and airdropped to players at the end of Season 1.
Players will get to earn Fluffy Points every day through 5 different activities. These points will be added automatically by doing the below actions, but each player will have a daily, weekly, or seasonal cap that limits how many points you can earn in a certain time period through gameplay. It looks like this limit only applies to points earned from gameplay activities, meaning you can earn more points by holding cosmetics.
The following is a list of ways you can earn Fluffy Points in the game’s first official season:
- Daily & Weekly Quests: Complete various different daily and weekly quests to not only earn XP for leveling up your profile, but also Fluffy Points!
- Play Casual Games: Hop into the game’s Casual mode and earn Fluffy Points for your first 10 matches of the day, with the counter resetting at 00:00 CET every day. You’ll want to win as many of these first 10 casual games each day as you can, as every win increases the points multiplier by 0.5x, meaning you can get a maximum multiplier of 5x by winning all 10 games, rewarding players for their skills.
- Play PlushKyn Battle Mode: Complete every PlushKyn Battle to earn more points than you would from Casual games, even though there’s no multiplier for winning!
- Leveling Up: Earn XP from Casual games, the PlushKyn Battle mode, as well as from daily and weekly quests in order to level up your profile and receive Fluffy Points for each time you level up. For the first season, you can level up all the way to level 60, unlocking a variety of cosmetic rewards along the way.
- Holding Cosmetics: Owners of cosmetic NFTs will be able to passively earn Fluffy Points every day for holding their assets throughout the season, with rarer cosmetics awarding higher points, though exact numbers have not yet been revealed. This probably means that holders will need to transfer their assets to their in-game custodial wallets, as it’s not possible to connect your own wallet to the game. A detailed guide on how to transfer your assets to the Beam-powered blockchain game can be found in the official documentation here. If you don’t own any cosmetics, you can get them from the Sphere marketplace on the Beam chain, where the current floor price is 394 $BEAM. You can also test your lootbox luck by getting a Toybox NFT on the same marketplace for the floor price of 875 $BEAM. Each Toybox contains one cosmetic NFT, and since you can’t transfer the Toybox to the game, you’ll need to open it to reveal your cosmetic first, and then transfer the cosmetic asset to the in-game wallet.
What’s New in Forgotten Playland This Month?
Before the Play to Airdrop Campaign was announced, the developers added a moustache cosmetic and VFX to the rarest cosmetics to make you further stand out when equipping them, while teasing more PlushKyn cosmetics to be coming soon for even more customization options (PlushKyns are playable plushie toy characters).
Following these cosmetic updates was the official introduction of daily and weekly quests. They will be added once Season 1 goes live, and completing them will reward you with XP and Fluffy Points, helping you level up your profile to unlock cosmetic rewards while competing for a bigger share of $FP tokens.
You can look forward to doing 5 new daily quests every day, and 5 new weekly quests each week. If you add up both systems, this means that you will be able to complete up to 40 quests every week.
When it comes to daily quests, there will be 2 short and 2 medium quests, and 1 long quest. These quests may not actually be the same for each player, but will still reward everyone with the same amount of XP and points. Weekly quests reward you the same way but will of course be longer and tougher to beat. Some type of quests that might end up appearing for the Epic release could include winning a specific party game, knocking off a certain number of players in Jungle Rumble in one game, and so on.
