Season 3, or the 1.0 open beta release of Ronin-powered roguelite/RTS hybrid Apeiron is now live with new PvP and PvE leaderboards together with mobile pre-registration in certain countries and an update to breeding costs.
What’s New in S3?
A PvP Leaderboard and PvE Leaderboard are both live for S3 from September 5th, 10 AM UTC, to October 17th, at 10 AM UTC. The former takes into account your PvP Ranked Tier and MMR, while the latter tracks the best dungeon score you managed to get in one playthrough. This is the first time the game has a PvP and PvE leaderboard going on at the same time, and both come with different rewards. For the PvP Leaderboard, the top 5000 players will share a prize pool of 240k+ $APRS tokens and 340+ Golden Apostle Tickets, with the top 3 players getting 2500 $APRS tokens each. To qualify for PvP leaderboard rewards, players will need to be at least Gold Rank. The top 10k players on the PvE Leaderboard could be rewarded with Animus, Golden Apostle Tickets, and more depending on where you rank. The official announcement states that there are new items players can use to help them gain dungeon PvE rewards.
There are more ways to earn $APRS during this period though. A total of 260k $APRS will be distributed across partner community events, and another 500k $APRS is earnable through the mobile pre-registration process, which also comes with rewarding mobile launch events. This all rounds up to a total of 1 million $APRS tokens, which is the equivalent of around $186k at the time of writing.
Mobile Pre-Registration + Launch Events
Pre-registration for the mobile version of this web3 game has opened in the following countries: Hong Kong, Japan, Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore). You should be able to pre-register on Android via the Play Store, while pre-registration for iOS users on the App Store should go live soon. More regions will be added over time.
The following table shows the rewards that everyone who pre-registers can get. Alongside these rewards, a prize pool of 500k $APRS is also reserved for pre-registration and mobile launch events, so you may want to pre-register as early as you can if you’re in one of the eligible countries. If you’re not, then be sure to keep an eye on the game’s social media channels to see if they soon add your country as well.
Primeval Boons & Breeding Cost Update
Primeval holders can now start testing out Boons before they soon launch to the public. Avatars can use Boons as special passive skills to gain various benefits for a potential strategic advantage. They’re unique to Planet Type and as such help make each Planet Type have more distinct gameplay thanks to their varied effects.
Speaking of Planets, the official update notes reveal that on September 13th, at 10 AM UTC, developer Foonie Magus will update the blockchain game with new APRS Planet Breeding costs, as shown in the image above, which is said to be a corrected version of adjustments they previously announced, so these new costs should be the actual ones to soon be included to the game.
Tokyo Game Show 2024
Apeiron is attending Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2024, Asia’s most popular annual video game trade fair and convention, which is set to take place this year from September 26th to September 29th, with the first 2 days of the event being business days, while the last two are public. The developers will be having their own game booth there, so you may want to give them a visit as they will not only be revealing a new opening cinematic but there will also be on-site mini tasks and quests for visitors to complete in order to receive exclusive new merch, such as tote bags, t-shirts, cushions, and plushies, with the below image serving as a sneak peek for the goodies that await.
