Revomon Completes NFT Migration to Immutable zkEVM

Monster taming mobile and VR metaverse Revomon has successfully had its NFTs migrated over from the BNB Chain to Immutable zkEVM, paving the way for a more accessible web3 gaming experience with the upcoming large Novus update.

What Revomon NFTs Have Been Migrated?

These are the NFTs that have been migrated to the gaming-focused ecosystem:

  • Generation I monsters (Genesis Collection)
  • Wearables/Cosmetics
  • Booster Packs/Eggomon (sealed)

Holders of the listed assets should have received a 1:1 airdrop on the same wallet address, and even a bit of $IMX to help you cover transaction fees. The new homes for trading these NFT collections are now TokenTrove and the Sphere marketplace. In-game trading will be added in the future. By community request, migrated Booster Packs and Eggomon cannot be opened, meaning they will stay sealed forever as collector items, with future editions that release after the Novus launch will be directly possible to use within the game.

Making Migrated Revomon Assets Work In-Game

This migration has been in the making since August, with version 2.7 of the game releasing at the end of that month to introduce the ability to sign in using Immutable Passport while paving the way for a gas-free experience with future on-chain activities. That being said, as the game itself also now uses the Ethereum-based gaming chain, you will need to transfer your NFTs to your Immutable Passport account to continue using them in-game.

With the Immutable zkEVM network added to your MetaMask or TrustWallet app, connect to your Revomon account using Passport. The email should be the same for both Passport and the game account. Once you’re in, you can link the external wallet holding the NFTs over to your Passport account, and then you can hop by to the Inventory page to see all your migrated assets. In this Inventory section, you will need to select all of the game’s NFTs that you own in the external wallet and import them over to your Passport wallet. Confirm the import process and voila, you’re now ready to use your migrated NFTs over on the new network.

Doing this on mobile might come with some issues, so it’s suggested that you complete this process on PC. You can check out a detailed tutorial on how to import your assets in this official Medium guide. As for the $REVO token, it looks like that will continue to stay on the BNB Chain. Whether that will change in the future has not been announced yet.

What Is Revomon?

Revomon is a play and earn monster collectible game designed for VR and Android mobile devices. It’s been available in beta since 2021 as a free to play metaverse on SideQuest VR and the Play Store. While the game was still on the BNB Chain, players could catch Revomon monsters and mint them into trading card NFTs to trade in the game’s dedicated marketplace using the $REVO governance token as you socialize with other players, engage in PvP battles, fight NPCs, wild monsters, complete quests, and more. The minting feature however is now disabled until a big new update gets released in which all captured monsters will automatically turn into NFTs for free thanks to the upcoming introduction of an auto-minting feature. Any non-minted monsters you capture now will carry over and turn into NFTs.

Following the migration of the game’s NFTs to Immutable zkEVM, the team has teased that work on land creation and distribution is up next. This is directly related to the upcoming Novus update, which is when monster minting will be re-enabled.

What Is Revomon Novus?

Revomon Novus is a huge update that looks to overhaul the entire core game experience by introducing an open-world map based on land ownership and an open $REVO-powered economy in which players can provide various services and receive royalties as landlords, with the whole MMORPG backed by a DAO structure.

Next to a land-based world, other key changes are also being made with this update. The in-game currency currently available will be removed and replaced with $REVO, becoming the main deflationary token of this metaverse for landholders to passively earn. Instead of awarding a currency for defeating wild Revomon, players will now have a chance of looting various different tradable consumables, which will also be earnable by completing quests and participating in events. Some early work-in-progress gameplay footage can be found here and here.

This new open world will feature a total of 1200 lands divided into 8 different land types that are spread across 11 different biomes. The land types include the following: Homestead, Mine, Clinic, Shop, Gym, Labs, Safari Park, and Arena. Each of them comes with different utility. For example, the Homestead land represents an in-game marketplace from which the owner will earn a % share of player transactions, while the Safari Park is an exclusive zone in which players have to pay an entry fee to hunt for limited and exclusive monsters, with the owner earning from entry fees.

A total of 582 land NFTs were sold in a private sale earlier this year, which meant that the team raised $104,760 to continue funding development. The public sale still seems to be up and running on the official website, where you can purchase land before the collection is created for 0.098 $ETH per NFT. Learn more about each type of land in v0 of the landpaper, though some info present there may be outdated by now, such as land supply, which changed from 8000 to 1200 according to this tweet.

This upgraded version of Revomon, which is said to be focused on combining elements of Pixels and Palworld, is planned to release in open beta on the Epic Games Store in one of the first two quarters of 2025, according to the latest roadmap revealed in the August Medium post. For the rest of this year, the team will focus development on the game’s multi-server architecture, web architecture, audio integration, storyboarding quests, and integrating Gen II monsters.

The developers are also working on expanding the IP into various mini-games, such as RevoRogue, a Telegram game that combines roguelike elements with a monster catching battle system to deliver endless turn-based gameplay in which you collect items and battle teams from NPCs while ranking up to win various rewards. This mobile game will be released after lands officially launch, which could mean a Q4 2024 or early 2025 release.
