Previously teased when Training Camps were added for Castles, the developers of free to play PvP RTS Wild Forest have now officially unveiled their plans for the new Lord staking system, aiming to gradually implement the changes in the weeks ahead.
What Is Wild Forest’s New Lord Staking System?
The goal of the new staking system is to bring community-focused changes that reward long-term loyalty. To do this, instead of being forced to lock your NFT for a fixed time period such as with the existing 90-day lock period, holders will now have the ability to stake and unstake at any time. By keeping your Lord staked though, you will be able to enjoy various premium features, and the longer the asset is actually staked, the bigger the rewards are from these premium features.
Here are the staking benefits you get right away:
- Higher daily mint limit
- Unlock Castle features depending on Lord rarity: Training Camps, Tavern, Recruitment Camp, and Campfire
- Increased Shard and Gold bonuses from the Battle Pass
- Early access to limited pre-sales and new Units
- Priority access to exclusive events and NFT sales
Next to these immediate benefits, the following is a list of perks that you can get for long-term staking:
- Castle Leasing: Lease Castles to other players to earn $WF tokens.
- Reputation: Get a significant boost to your reputation by staking for an unspecified long period.
- DAO Voting Power: If you want your vote to be more influential, then you should keep your asset(s) staked for longer.
- Lord Guilds: Eventually, Lord stakers might actually be able to take part in exclusive Guilds to compete in a Guild league. This means you’ll be able to set up your own Lord-only Guild, but the size of your Guild will depend on your staking duration and Lord rank. Additional details will be revealed in the future once the team gets further development done on this system.
As developer Zillion Whales wants to encourage long-term staking, holders can look forward to accruing staking streak bonuses, increasing your streak by staking every day in order to get enhanced rewards. The way bonus progression seems to work is that you start from 0% and unlock 100% access to features in the first 30 days. If you continue staking after the 30-day period, then you can further increase your bonuses, going to 125% by 3 months, 155% by 6 months, and possibly even up to 200% by 9 months, though these percentages may still change a bit to keep everything balanced.
Specifically, bonuses awarded to loyal stakers include the following:
- Increased daily mint limits
- Better Shard and Gold bonuses in the Battle Pass
- Higher Gold drops in Camps
- Training Camps get lower training times
- Prices for Units in the Tavern get a discount
- Recruitment Camps give increased chances of getting better Unit drops
- Even bigger priority for accessing future events, meaning higher chances of getting whitelisted, and more
What Happens to the Existing Lord Staking System During the Transition Period?
While the studio continuously introduces new updates to overhaul the system, all Lords currently staked will keep 100% access to all existing features before the bonus system is implemented. The staking streak you have now does actually continue to grow, allowing you to unlock higher bonuses later on. According to the official announcement, stakers who want to “maximise [their] rewards and gain a 90-day head start” should continue staking until the re-stake feature is added at some point in early October in order to get upgraded benefits.
The team has shared a schedule for new features they have in store throughout this transition period. It reveals that you can expect Taverns to go live this week, while Recruitment Camps and Campfires should launch in early October. You can look forward to streak bonuses getting added at the end of October, while the Castle Leasing feature should arrive at some point in November.
Can Lord Stakers Participate in the $WF Community Round?
The announcement reassures everyone that if you’ve staked Lord NFTs for more than 30 days, your dedication will be rewarded with a piece of the $600k Community Round. Those with a 90-day or higher streak will get an even higher allocation in order to “reward those who have taken the greatest risk.” More info on this bonus will soon be given.
If you’ve just recently started staking, you may still have a chance of participating in the round as the team will look to give extra allocations “based on their staking streaks.”
More details on the Community Round and the upcoming TGE for the $WF token are planned to soon be revealed.
